Roofers in Bridge of Earn

Bridge of Earn is four miles south of us — close enough that we’re regularly there. We cover the old village, the post-war housing and the newer developments, for everything from a slipped slate to a full reroof.

    Roofing in Bridge of Earn

Bridge of Earn has grown a lot and it shows in the roofs.

The older village core is traditional — stone, natural slate on sarking, chimney stacks. Same construction as Perth’s older streets, same age, and the same problems arriving now: nail sickness, cracked cement fillets at the chimney, failed lead in valleys.

    Village Core • Traditional Slate

Post-war and later twentieth-century housing makes up a large share of the village. Concrete tile, mortar-bedded ridges that have washed out, and roofline that’s often never been replaced.

    Post-War Housing • Concrete Tile

Newer development, including the substantial residential build-out on the former hospital site, is modern tile with uPVC roofline. Structurally these roofs are fine and will be for decades. What fails first is everything else — flat-roofed extensions and garages, porches, dormer flashings, and gutters.

What we get called out to here

Roofline and guttering, more than anything. Blocked or sagging gutters, overflowing onto walls, rotting fascias behind them. It’s the cheapest thing on a roof to maintain and the most expensive to ignore — a saturated wall causes damp inside that costs far more to fix than the gutter ever would. See guttering, fascias and soffits.

    Guttering • Fascias • Soffits

Flat roofs on extensions and garages. Old felt that’s blistered, split or ponding. Usually best replaced in EPDM, which handles the Scottish climate both during installation and afterwards. See flat roofing.

    Flat Roofs • EPDM Rubber

Ridge mortar on the older tile estates. Rebedding washed-out ridge tiles and upgrading to dry ridge systems for long-term stability against severe weather.

    Ridge Mortar • Tile Estates

Traditional slate work in the village core — repairs, and increasingly full reroofs on properties that have been patched for decades.

Why choose us in Bridge of Earn

Four miles. Same-day for emergencies, and no travel excuses for anything else.

    Local Response • Emergency Cover

We’ve worked here before. Bridge of Earn is one of our regular areas, not a postcode we’ve added to a list.

Bridge of Earn • Local Experience

We’ll tell you when you don’t need the work. A twenty-five-year-old tile roof usually needs its ridge sorted and its gutters cleared, not replacing. We’ll say so.

    FAQ

How quickly can you get here?

Same day for anything urgent. We’re four miles away

My house is on one of the newer developments. Is the roof likely to be a problem?

The main roof, unlikely for a long while. What’s worth checking is the roofline, any flat-roofed section, and the flashings around dormers or roof windows — those are where modern houses fail first.

Almost certainly. It’s one of the most common causes of internal damp we see, and it’s cheap to fix compared with what it causes.

Do you cover Abernethy and Forgandenny too?

Yes, along with Bridge of Earn, Oudenarde and the surrounding villages.
