Question 1

How much does a new roof cost in Perth?

Accepted Answer

It depends almost entirely on size, pitch, access, material and — the big one on Perthshire houses — whether the sarking underneath needs replacing. A small terraced roof is a very different job from a detached house with three dormers and a chimney. We give a written, itemised price after a free survey, and we’ll tell you if you don’t actually need a new roof yet.

Question 2

Do I need scaffolding?

Accepted Answer

For a full reroof, almost always — it’s a legal safety requirement, not an upsell. For a small repair, often not. We’ll tell you which before we start, and scaffolding is itemised separately on your quote so you can see exactly what it costs.

Question 3

Can you fix it, or do I need a whole new roof?

Accepted Answer

This is the question we’re asked most. The honest answer is that it depends on the nails. If the roof is shedding slates in a random pattern across the whole roof, that’s usually nail sickness and you’re on borrowed time. If it’s one area, after one storm, that’s a repair. We’ll tell you which you’ve got, with photos, and we have no interest in selling you a roof you don’t need.

Question 4

How quickly can you come out?

Accepted Answer

For emergencies — active leak, storm damage, exposed roof — we aim to be with you same day or next day. For surveys and non-urgent work, usually within a few days.

Question 5

Do you do work for insurance claims?

Accepted Answer

Regularly. We’ll photograph everything, provide a written report of the damage and its cause, and give you an itemised quote in the format insurers expect.
